Jon Feldman

Jon Feldman, President and Lead Designer, began G. biloba Gardens in 1983.  Jon's interest in gardening became apparent at age three. When feared missing during a rainstorm, he was eventually discovered, trowel in hand, outside turning over the medley of organic materials in his parents’ compost bin.

Jon has been an integral part of two national television series on HGTV. Landscaper's Challenge, in which he created the winning design and got the opportunity to install the garden for the show's contestants. For the show Urban Outsiders, he served as design consultant and did the build-outs for the designs created by British landscape designer and TV host, Matt James. The show was premised on turning derelict NYC backyards into garden gems.

G. biloba Gardens was involved in six episodes throughout the five boroughs of New York City.

Jon completed a solo circumnavigation of the world in 1979, to study public education programs at fourteen of the world's greatest botanical gardens. The journey was co-sponsored by The Circumnavigator's Club, International and the New York Botanical Garden.

His monthly column, "The Lifetime Gardener," was a regular feature in The Nyack Villager, the local newspaper for residents of the Hudson River Villages in Rockland County, New York. He wrote the column from 2002 until the paper ceased publishing in 2015.

Feldman received a B.A. in Botany from Drew University and continued his education at The New York Botanical Garden towards a degree in Horticulture. Additionally, his studies have included fine arts, architecture, graphic design and sustainable agriculture. His lifelong interest in education is continually fueled by his interactions with clients and students.
